California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) Notice

This notice applies to residents of California, United States. It supplements our full Privacy Policy with disclosures required by the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).

Three Chapters Ltd (“Three Chapters”, “we”, “us”) provides a wedding CRM for professional photographers, videographers, and planners. This notice explains how we collect, use, and protect the personal information of California residents.

1. Categories of personal information we collect

In the last 12 months, we have collected the following categories of personal information (as defined by the CCPA):

  • IdentifiersName, email address, IP address, account identifier.
  • Commercial informationSubscription records, invoices, transaction history.
  • Internet or other electronic network activitySession logs, page views, in-app activity.
  • Professional or employment-related informationBusiness name, address, and other business details you provide.
  • Inferences drawn from aboveAggregated, anonymised product usage analysis. We do not build individual profiles for advertising purposes.

We do not collect sensitive personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA (such as Social Security numbers, financial account credentials, precise geolocation, biometric data, or information about health, race, or sexual orientation).

2. Sources of personal information

We collect personal information directly from you when you:

  • Create and use a Three Chapters account
  • Contact our support team
  • Submit a booking form (as a couple)
  • Interact with the client portal (as a couple)

We also receive limited technical data automatically through your use of our website and applications (such as browser type, operating system, and IP address).

3. How we use your information

We collect and use personal information for the following business and commercial purposes:

  • Providing and maintaining the Three Chapters service
  • Processing payments and subscriptions
  • Sending transactional communications (confirmations, reminders, invoices)
  • Responding to support requests
  • Improving and developing our product
  • Ensuring security and preventing fraud
  • Complying with legal obligations

4. Disclosure to third parties

We share personal information with a limited number of service providers (sub-processors) solely for the purpose of delivering the Three Chapters service. These include:

  • SupabaseDatabase, authentication, and file storage (EU)
  • CloudflareWebsite hosting and content delivery (global)
  • ResendTransactional email delivery (US)
  • StripeSubscription billing and payment processing (US/EU)
  • AnthropicAI-assisted text generation, when you use this feature (US)

Each provider processes only the data necessary for their specific function. A full list with DPA links is available in section 9 of our Privacy Policy.

5. We do not sell or share your personal information

Three Chapters does not sell personal information to any third party. We have not sold personal information in the last 12 months and have no plans to do so.

We also do not “share” personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising purposes, as that term is defined under the CCPA/CPRA. You do not need to opt out because it does not happen.

We do not use sensitive personal information for any purpose beyond what is necessary to deliver the service.

6. Your California privacy rights

As a California resident, you have the following rights under the CCPA/CPRA, which you can exercise free of charge, up to twice per 12-month period:

  • Right to knowRequest disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources, the business purposes, and the categories of third parties with whom it has been shared.
  • Right to deleteRequest that we delete personal information we have collected, subject to certain exceptions (for example, where retention is required by law or necessary to complete a transaction).
  • Right to correctRequest correction of inaccurate personal information we hold about you.
  • Right to opt out of sale or sharingAs noted above, we do not sell or share personal information for advertising, so this right is not applicable in practice.
  • Right to limit use of sensitive personal informationWe do not use sensitive personal information beyond the purpose for which it was collected.
  • Right to non-discriminationWe will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights. You will not receive different pricing, a different quality of service, or any other penalty.

7. How to make a request

To exercise your California privacy rights, you can:

We will acknowledge your request within 10 business days and provide a substantive response within 45 days as required by the CCPA. We may extend this by a further 45 days if we notify you within the initial period.

To verify your identity, we will match the information you provide in your request against the information we already hold. In some cases, we may ask you to provide additional information for verification purposes.

You may designate an authorised agent to submit a request on your behalf. We will require written authorisation from you and may verify your identity directly before processing the request.

8. Non-discrimination

We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights. Specifically, we will not:

  • Deny you access to Three Chapters
  • Charge you different prices or rates for the service
  • Provide a different level or quality of service
  • Suggest you will receive any of the above
